Move to Seattle
Techcrunch reported the news of the purchase, but was unable to obtain the exact figure Amazon paid for the acquisition. It also remains to be seen what Amazon will do with its purchase: will it use the system on its own website or will it incorporate Shoefitr on its affiliate company Zappos?
The former would seem logical: the online giant does not have shoe purchase assistance yet and Shoefitr’s biggest advantage would be that it could severely limit, up to 20 % according to the company, the number of packages returned.
A downside for whoever currently works for the start-up company is that its entire team, currently located in Pittsburgh, may eventually need to move to Amazon’s main office in Seattle, on the other side of the country.
