“Additional stimulus for Belgian ecommerce”
An own web shop is not required to be able to sell on Bol.com. More than 10,000 Dutch retailers have joined Bol.com already and that has boosted Bol.com’s range of products by 1.5 million unique products.
“We want to expand our Dutch sales formula to Belgian retailers, which could be an additional stimulus for Belgian ecommerce. It offers those retailers an opportunity to reach abroad and access millions in the Netherlands. As we share knowledge and experience with a new wave of retailers, we can expand our product range and improve our store for our customers”, Jan Huysmans (director Belgium at Bol.com) said.
Third party-sold products are placed in between Bol.com’s own products and third party sellers are even allowed to sell the same items Bol.com sells. The company feels this will broaden the price range and delivery options for its customers. Bol.com’s payment service will be used for all transactions and the specific delivery and return policy will be mentioned at the very end of the transaction.
Emob.eu is one of the very first Belgian stores to take Bol.com up on its offer. “We have profitable web shops with children’s bedrooms, children’s and baby items and garden furniture, but by adding our product range to Bol.com, we hope to garner more visibility while we should also benefit from Bol.com’s reliability and reputation”, Jelle Ryckoort – online marketeer at Emob.eu – said. “We can now expand in the Netherlands without too much effort to attract people to our web shops, while we can take advantage of Bol.com’s efforts.”
