Possibly other cities as well
Lehmann immediately added that other European cities might also be added to its portfolio, but that several obstacles first have to be overcome for that to happen. He feels the current business model would not work in cities like Berlin and Paris. Asian cities are not even an option, unless Postmates can find a local partner.
Postmates already announced a deal with Starbucks earlier this month, to deliver online Starbucks orders at home in the Seattle area. Such a delivery will cost close to 6 dollars, without tip, making it mostly a service for customers who place very large orders.
Back in June, Postmates also acquired 80 million dollars (74 million euro) in new investments, which means it is now valued at more than 500 million dollars (460 million euro).
