Much dismay
Waitrose experienced issues on Sunday and Monday when its website buckled under the holiday order rush. Customers had the option to pick up their order or to cancel them as there were not enough drivers to send them out again. Many customers have complained about the current state of affairs. One said he was dismayed about the communication, while others did not appreciate they would get their orders after Christmas as the orders are no longer necessary then.
Marks & Spencer has also faced issues during the holiday period, as its delivery period has grown to 10 days, while it normally ships and delivers orders between 3 to 5 days. Sainsbury’s was forced to cancel several hundred orders on Sunday. Customers did get new delivery dates, but these were after Christmas while some orders had already been placed several weeks ago.
