One step further
An increasing number of consumers prefer to keep track of their shopping list on their smartphone and as such, ever more supermarket chains develop an app to add that functionality to their service. Carrefour will now take it one step further by sending that shopping list to the smartwatch.
Customers with a Samsung Gear S can send shopping lists created with Carrefour’s C-où app to their smartwatch and the app will then list all of the items based on categories (like drinks, health items or herbs). Items can be checked off of the list while people shop, while its loyalty program is also tied to the watch, making it easier to scan at the cash register.
Currently, only customers at the French Villeneuve-la-Garenne store with a Samsung smartphone and smartwatch can use the new service, but the company intends on releasing a version for other Android users soon.
