Launch by the end of the year
The device has to connect to wireless internet to allow bar codes to be scanned which in turn will add products to a shopping list. If required, customers can talk to the device to add certain items. The list is then transferred immediately to a smartphone or tablet app and from there customers can order the items to be picked up at a drive.
100 loyal Chronodrive customers will trial the Hiku this summer and the device should have a full launch by the end of 2014 or maybe the beginning of 2015. Chronodrive has not mentioned a possible price for the device which strongly resembles the Amazon Dash.
