“Change
consumers’ experiences today”
When he was asked if eBay had any plans with drones, he said: “We’re not
really focusing on long-term fantasies. We’re working on things that will change consumers’ experiences today”,
referring to eBay Now. Tht service, already active in several areas in the United
States, promises deliveries within the hour.
The response comes a few days after Jeff Bezos, Amazon’s CEO, announced his
company was testing delivering small packages with drones. Companies like
Amazon and eBay are constantly looking
for ways to get packages delivered faster and some believe drones are a
possible solution.
The idea of using drones to deliver packages still has quite a few hurdles
to get over: even the United States currently has no rules about drone usage. The Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA) still has to create a legislative body, something the American Congress
ordered by 2015.
