From eBikes to Segways for the fashionable urban dweller
The brain child of engineer Eric Chevallet (44) and entrepreneur Bertrand de La Tour d’Auvergne (47) specializes in light electric means of transportation, which meet the demand of environmentally friendly alternatives for the clogged-up urban traffic life. The company has been active in the French business-to-business market for a year now and now wants to conquer the market with a web shop and an international chain of (eventually) about thirty physical stores.
The very first will open its doors at the end of November on the Louizalaan in Brussels, spread over two floors. A range of electric bikes, Segways, skateboards, steps, scooters, trikes and so forth will be put on sale. Customers can even try out the items on an indoor track or get their product repaired in a shop.
“Brussels is an international city and a choice of the heart, but also a choice of the mind”, Chevallet said. “The world’s biggest cycling champion comes from Brussels, but it is also the traffic champion in the world. On top of that, Belgium has its multicultural heritage and a geographically excellent location to support a development on a European level”, the French engineer explains why he chose to open his first store in Belgium rather than in France.
Electric Valley will be located in a prestigious, 1,600 sqm building across the Steigenberger Wiltcher’s Hotel, which should help the French company to settle quickly as its neighbours are also French: The Kooples and Zadig&Voltaire.
