He promises to “become the voice for German ecommerce in Brussels”. The German ecommerce market represented a 63.4 billion euro turnover in 2013, a 26.8 % growth compared to 2012. For 2014, another 20 % increase is to be expected.
The German Händlerbund, created in 2008, is meant to represent the fast-growing German internet branch. The trade union calls itself “Europe’s largest online organization“. It has more than 30,000 members, 47 % of which are B2C-focused, 2 % are B2B and the remaining 51 % sells both to businesses and consumers.
“This German company represents an important part of the B2C internet companies in Germany. With this addition, Ecommerce Europe has garnered the support of 16 countries, which has made our voice in Europe ever stronger”, François Momboisse (chairman of Ecommerce Europe’s board) said.
