Pop-up stores not sign for permanent locations
Google had started temporary outlets at Best
Buy in the United States and a few at Dixons in the United Kingdom. The plan
was to familiarise consumers with the physical products Google has to offer.
Observers saw this as a step towards a chain of
Google stores, mainly to familiarize products such as internet glasses Google Glass,
Chromebooks, X Phones en Nexus tablets. According to Rubin this isn’t necessary,
because consumers will trust in recommendations of their friends and online
reviews to make an informed purchase. Furthermore the Nexus tablet isn’t
advanced enough to warrant its own stores, says Rubin.
