Fight with Amazon
According to The Wall Street Journal, which quotes company insiders, Google has already asked several online retailers if they would be interested in a Buy-button on Google’s website. The company would like to use a one-click system, like Amazon uses. This way, the consumer only has to enter his information once.
Google is apparently also investigating a possible subscription model, which would mean customers would get their orders home-delivered for free within 2 days. That is also something Amazon already does with Amazon Prime.
Google refuses to comment on rumours, but it is public knowledge that Google wants to fight Amazon to lure online shoppers away, into the arms of its search engine.
