Purchase straight from the ad
Users will be able to buy an item straight out of the ad thanks to the Buy button, without being transferred to another website. This means Google will move away from its previous business model, where it received money for clicks towards a particular website.
With its Buy button, Google wants to make it easier for customers to buy something online, a move it makes because of the increased competition from the likes of Amazon. Many consumers usually start their search at the web shop itself, where a purchase is easily made thanks to the one-click system.
Facebook and Twitter have also launched pilot programs with Buy buttons on their website and those also allow consumers to instantly buy something without leaving the website they are currently on.
