Faster growth than Amazon
Walmart started shipping online orders from its stores in 2012, while it has added more click & collect options over time. According to The Wall Street Journal, several billion dollars in online orders are being shipped from stores now.
The store chain is by far America’s largest retailer, but on the Internet it still trails Amazon’s online operations by some margin. Nevertheless, it is closing the gap fast: its 2013 online turnover reached over 10 billion dollars (8.2 billion euro) with a 30 % online growth, way faster than Amazon.
