One of these pick-up points has opened today in Ravensburg, near the Bodensee. The 500 sqm store, where customers can come pick up online orders or place orders, follows the opening of the very first new addition, in Leipzig earlier this year.
Over the next 2 to 3 years, Ikea has plans to open another 8 independent pick-up points in Germany, including in Rhine-Main and Southern Germany. The goal is to open pick-up points in regions lacking an Ikea store presence.
Ikea is not only rolling out this system in Germany, as it is also doing the same in England, where the very first one opened in Norwich.
