There have been several searches at different Renault locations last week and computers from board members were seized. The French court focused on the Lardy’s engineer center, Guyancourt’s technological center, Plessis-Robinson’s factory and Renault’s offices at Boulogne-Billancourt.
The company admits the searches were done by a new technical commission founded after the Volkswagen debacle. It has to investigate whether French car manufacturers have also implemented cheating software and according to Renault, no proof has been found during these first steps of the investigation.
Anti-fraud service DGCCRF decided to launch a complementary investigation, to validate the technical commission’s own investigation. “The DGCCRF visited the company’s social seat, Renault’s Technical Center in Lardy and Guyancourt’s Technocentre”, the manufacturer said. “Renault’s teams are fully cooperative with both investigations, whether it is the commission or the complementary investigation ordered by the Ministry of Economy.”
