No intermediary
Made.Com tries to keep prices low by eliminating the intermediary party as much as possible. “All intermediary steps in the production process (agents, importers and stores) who all want their own margins, mean that the customer unnecessarily overpays”, co-founder Ning Li said. “We want to cut out this part for our customers and therefore offer original design at affordable prices.”
The Netherlands are the fourth country with a Made.com web shop. Great Britain, Italy and France have their own version and a German version will arrive later this year. Great Britain and Italy also have physical showrooms, which the Netherlands do not have, although the latter does have a localized customer service.
