To make this work, Mango will use augmented reality to enable magazine and catalog ad scanning. If the piece of clothing is recognized, the customer will get a link to the relevant web shop page. He (or she) will also be able to see which physical stores also have the item in stock. Mango says it prefers this system to QR codes so that the visual impact of its ads remains unaltered.
Mobile users have become a focal point for the Spanish company as of late: mobile now accounts for 30 % of its total online turnover, three times more than last year. Back then, Mango managed a 124 million euro online turnover. Its mobile app now has some 1.6 million users.
