Lobbyist for 10 years
Ten Ham has lobbied at European level for the past ten years and has advised several companies how to shape their European lobbying activities. The 31-year old from the Netherlands had been a manager at Ecommerce Europe for a year, to help create a more professional environment at the company, in order to expand its influence on the European legislative process.
“Alongside my colleagues at Ecommerce Europe, I consider it my goal to clear the path for eCommerce without boundaries, which is why we will help create a European situation which better fits the needs of online companies.”
“Maintain double-digit growth”
The newly-appointed secretary general may feel the “digital unified market is already high on the political agenda”, there are still plenty of “existing political obstructions” that need to be removed urgently.
She also feels there is plenty of work to be done to improve current legislation: “Together with our members, I really look forward to maintaining the double-digit growth currently experienced in the market.”
François Momboisse, Ecommerce Europe’s president is “happy that Marlene will now become the face of European eCommerce” and believes that “she will definitely defend and protect the branch’s needs at a European level”.
