Not proud of web shop
“We are not extremely proud of our current web shop. So about a year ago, we decided to build a new online store. The expectations of the store were running high. But it turned out to be such a disappointment”, Mexx’ chief creative officer Julia Hansen told Fashionunited. “We decided that if it did not add anything to the Mexx brand, then we just would not do it. We will say ‘no’ to any plans that do not add any value to Mexx.”
Customers could still order up until 28 February, with another two weeks to return clothing if needed, but then it is no longer possible to shop online at Mexx. The move is temporary, as the fashion retailer is building another web shop immediately: “We would rather take some time off and return with an amazing online platform, a web shop that will make shopping a great experience, then continue to let consumers visit a online store that we are anything, but proud of.”
The closure of the web shop is followed by the launch of a new website, where it will be able to show off its new collections. Anyone who wishes to buy clothing through mexx.com will be transferred to partner shops, where Mexx clothing is on sale.
