Other European countries as well
The video streaming service will expand to Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg and Switzerland this year, with a localised version for each country. Consumers can get a 9.99 euro subscription in order to stream movies and series to a wide range of appliances.
Not only Netflix’ own series, but local and international series and films are also available, but the full extent of its European catalog is currently unknown.
Main office moves to the Netherlands
Netflix’s European headquarters will move from Luxembourg to the Netherlands in 2015 as a result of new tax laws. Currently, the streaming service already caters to consumers in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Scandinavia, Finland and Ireland.
Founded in 2007, Netflix is currently available in over 40 countries, with 48 million subscribers. These members watch, on average, more than 1 billion hours of movies and series per month.
