Buyable pins also on Android
The additional tab in the app is currently only available for customers in the United States and the pins are added by Pinterest employees. The service will be rolled out over the next few weeks, but it is not sure whether it will also see an international launch.
The addition of a web shop has also made buyable pins available for Android devices, as it was previously only available for Apple’s mobile devices.
In a Pinterest blog, the company says it has more than 60 million pins with direct links to a product page which can be recognized by their blue price tag. If a customer clicks one of these pins, they are directed to a payment page without having to leave the app.
