Successor for shop-in-shops
The news comes from Crain’s New York Business, but so far Google has refused to comment. Rental prices around SoHo’s Greene Street have doubled in the past two years, up to more than 300 dollars per square foot (3,200 euro per square meter), leading the street to be dubbed dubbed “Soho’s little Madison Avenue”.
If the rumours are true, Greene Street will become Google’s very first store location, after it had opened several shop-in-shops to sell its Chromebooks two years ago. Two of those locations were a separate store corner at PC World in London and one at Saturn in Hamburg.
