Rocket Internet says it will still open three more companies this year, which means it will have opened ten companies in 2014. It wants to repeat that next year, by launching another 10 internet companies.
Rocket Internet believes the value of traded goods on its 12 largest sites, with Russian Lamoda and Indian Jabong, has grown 104 % in the six months leading up to 30 June.
The company, which also helped launch Zalando, has launched several dozens of internet companies, which it uses to mimic Amazon’s success in emerging markets. It is mainly active in Africa, Latin America and Russia.
