“Blow competitors out of the water”
It is currently unclear how the new system would work, but according to
Ryanair CEO O’Leary, it will be revolutionary. Confirming the collaboration to
The Guardian, he said: “Google are developing a price-comparison thing
themselves. It’ll blow comparison sites
like Skyscanner out of the water.” The search engine aims to get all
airlines to work together in its search to find the cheapest tickets.
“Google will change the way people
buy airline tickets forever”, the low-cost airliner’s CEO said. “They need
to find who has got the lowest airfare on these routes… and that’s us.”
O’Leary has said that Google will get its revenue from ads, which is why the
airline does not have to pay for this new service. The entire project should
become clearer by the end of March.
