Saleduck, a start-up from Amsterdam, is expanding into Asia with an office in Kuala Lumpur. The site combines a range of online offers and discounts on one single page.
Largest market in the world
“With 770 billion euro, the Asian eCommerce market is by far the largest in the world and its 2014 growth, at 44 %, is much larger than the rest of the world’s. It was not a difficult decision,” CEO Domingo Karsten said.
Malaysia was also an obvious choice as the country gives advantages to innovative multimedia companies and start-ups. “The environment for start-ups is surprisingly nice in Malaysia. We can easily do business here, especially after the local government backed our ambitious plans with the coveted MSC status.”
Saleduck also wants to obtain additional external investments for some 500,000 euro. Currently, the website is available in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Malaysia, Norway, Singapore, Sweden, Switzerland and Turkey.
