American site shut down
Vente-privée’s 2013 turnover growth was 23 %, which is considerably higher than its turnover growth last year. Co-founder Xavier Hof has told the French “Journal du Net” that its performance at the end of 2014 and the beginning of 2015 was very good however.
The company, which became well-known for its online flash sales, pointed to the now-defunct American operations, a collaboration with MasterCard, as part of the reason for its slower turnover growth. It had launched its American operations three years ago, but it failed to gain any meaningful traction. At the end of 2014, it launched an affiliate site, called Kooroo, focused on full-price sales.
